More detail on this person: Jerry Dean Shirley Winter Garden, FL-Jerry Dean Shirley, 73, passed away on December 25, 2013 peacefully at home after an extended battle with cancer. Jerry was born in Centralia, Illinois to Ethel M Burris who preceded him in death. He retired from the United States Army after 33 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 and two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. During retirement Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, helping others, and sharing his knowledge with friends and family. Surviving him are his wife, two sisters, multiple generations of nieces and nephews, three daughters and spouse, two dogs, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Inurnment will take place at Bushnell National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
