Richard died as a result of a series of accidental
falls, and complications from resulting surgery in
early November. Marlene wants everyone to know
that Richard had a very full life on Earth, that
he went out fighting, and that he is in a better
place now.
Marlene also wants you to know that Richard's
E-mail address is inactive and that she does not
use E-mail at all. She did not grant permission
for me to give her address or phone numbers on the
net, but If anyone wishes to contact her, please
send me the message or call me and I will see that
the message reaches her.
Richard Schuster's funeral service is arranged
through Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home, 577 East
Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, Florida 34145, phone
239-394-7573. (Their website can be found through
Google.) The service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on
Monday, 26 November 2012, and will include
military honors.
I was privileged to serve in the same 2nd platoon
with Richard. You may remember that during our
animal parties, he would often recite the poem
about the little bird landing on his windowsill.
Over the years, I have seen Marlene and him at
VHPA reunions. He will be missed, like all the
rest.
