More detail on this person: James Stoeser (June 19, 1945 - April 16, 2005) James Stoeser, at the age of 59 passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 16, 2005. Jim was born June 19, 1945 to Thomas and Judy Stoeser in Devils Lake North Dakota. Jim graduated from high school in 1963 and enlisted in the US Army. His Army carrier included two overseas tours in Vietnam, one year in Korea, one and a half year in Germany. Jim served as helicopter pilot, flight instructor, and personnel officer. Following his long and distinguished Army carrier, Jim felt compelled to continue his service to his nation by joining the Washington Air National Guard. He served in active duty from 1974 until retiring from service in 1991 at the rank of E-9 Chief Master Sergeant. While in service Jim earned many of our nations highest awards. During his service in the Air Guard Jim attended night school and earned a Master of Business Administration. Soon after retiring Jim continued in public service with Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. Jim was forced to retire once again only one year ago due to medical complications from his tours of duty in Vietnam. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy and survived by his wife, Maggie, his son, Jason, daughter Tina and 4 grandchildren. Jim also has three sisters, DeLila Liedkie, DeVona Mollohan, and Mary Miller. A Rosary and Visitation will be held on Thursday April 21st at 6:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at Jims Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lacey, WA on Friday April 22nd. at 9:00 AM. with full Military honors. A Reception will follow in the church hall. Interment and graveside service will be held Monday April 25th, 1:00PM at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane Washington.
