"Clancy" Smith II, 65, of Covington, died Friday,
Jan. 18, 2013, at his residence.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m.
Monday in the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with
Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will be
in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.,
at 2 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests that memorial tributes be made
to the Alleghany Humane Society, P.O. Box, Low
Moor, Va. 24457.

Clarence William Smith, II Mr. Clarence William
"Clancy" Smith, II, age 65, of Covington, died
Friday, January 18, 2013, at his residence. He is
survived by his wife and the love of his life,
Patricia Bradley. Mr. Smith was born August 27,
1947 in Greenville, SC, the son of the late
Clarence William Smith, Sr. and Doris Inabineth
Smith. He served his country a member of the
United States Army where he did four back to back
tours in Vietnam; two of them as a helicopter
pilot and two as a pilot with Air America. Mr.
Smith is survived by one son, Gray Smith; one
brother, Wallace Smith; one sister, Diane Henije;
two aunts, Annie Maude Smith and Martha Snow;
one sister-in-law, Betty Clande, of Enterprise,
AL. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00
P.M. Friday, January 25, 2013 in Barrancas
National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. Loving Funeral
