More detail on this person: John Sherburne Or Jack Sentell, 62 Deaths (Part 2 of 2) Advocate, The (Baton Rouge, LA) - Sunday, May 15, 2005 He died at 3 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2005, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1942, in New Orleans, grew up in Shreveport, and had been a resident of Baton Rouge for the past 30 years. He was a graduate of LSU and a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He was a captain in the U.S. Army, 1st Cavalry Division, serving as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. For a number of years, he was with Naylor Industries of Baton Rouge and Houston. In 1992, he was a founding partner of SEMS Inc., Baton Rouge. He was a holder of three patents in industrial maintenance. He was a co-owner of Yarbrough Interior Designers, Shreveport. Visitation Sunday afternoon, May 15, at the family home and on Monday, at St. James Episcopal Church at 10 a.m. until service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Mark Holland. Interment in the Young Family Cemetery, The Plains, Zachary, immediately following the service. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Keith Sentell; a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia Sentell Mathison and Kurt L. Mathison of Dallas; son, John Allen Sentell, Shreveport; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Sentell Fleming and J. William Fleming, Shreveport; niece, Elizabeth Fleming, Shreveport; and nephew, Joseph W. Fleming Jr., Shreveport; mother-in-law, LaFaye Auger Keith; and brothers-in-law, Allen D. Keith and William F. Keith, both of Austin, and Thomas H. Keith of Dhadran, Saudi Arabia and Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sentell and Lorinda Cox Sentell; father-in-law, Franklin D. Keith; and mother-in-law, Azile Wagner Keith. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, The Baton Rouge Assembly and the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge. The family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Jed Morris, M.D., William Hines, M.D., Patrick Stagg, M.D., Mitchell Hebert, M.D., and John McClelland, M.D., and all their medical partners for their care and support through Jack's long illness and particularly for their friendship. The family also wishes to thank the nursing staff in the cor onary care unit at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for their skilled and loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. James Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 126, Baton Rouge, LA 70821 or Belcher Veterans Memorial, P.O. Box 149, Belcher, LA 71004. Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., is in charge of arrangements.
