More detail on this person: Michael Ryan Strom Strom, Michael Ryan - age 61, of Federal Way, Washington, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011. He was born December 11, 1949, in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Mr. Wilbur F. Strom and the late Mrs. Winifred 'Pat' Strom, and was raised in nearby Fenton. He grew up with his older brother and six other neighborhood boys, all of whom became lifelong friends. He entered military service soon after graduating from Fenton High School, and served as a Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he flew UH-1 Iroquois 'Huey' helicopters. He located in the Seattle area after his service time, and went to Seattle Community College and the University of Washington. A mechanical engineer, his career was with several western Washington mechanical contractors. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, son, and friend. He was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, duck hunting, skiing, golf, tennis, trap shooting, and dog training, and an avid football, baseball, and horse racing fan. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Britt Lieshman Strom, son and daughter-in-law Justin and Tonya Strom, son William, daughter Stephanie, sister Suzanne Ross, brother Eric Strom, five grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. There will be a Memorial Service 1:00 PM Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the SeaTac Bible Church in Auburn, Washington. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Michael Strom's name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, at www.dav.org, or Point Man Ministries, at www.pmim.org.
