More detail on this person: Gerald K. "Jerry" Schoenauer, 70, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday at Arden Courts Nursing Home, Linglestown. Born in Pottsville, Aug. 26, 1947, he was a son of the late Francis C. and Mary Kathleen Gallen Schoenauer. Jerry graduated from Nativity B.V.M. High School, Class of 1965. He then earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Penn State University in 1969 and after Vietnam, he earned his master's degree from the University of Tennessee. He served in the Army as a CPT in the Vietnam War from 1969 until 1973, flying Apache helicopters. Jerry worked for the Department of Transportation, Washington, D.C., until retiring in 2007. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and David Schoenauer, and a sister, Eileen Jordan. Jerry is survived by his wife of 11 years, Barbara Anns Bedson Schoenauer, Pottsville; a daughter, Virginia Schoenauer, wife of Kim, Virginia; a son, Thomas Schoenauer, husband of Janine, Virginia; stepchildren, Emily Scheidel, wife of Michael, Schuylkill Haven, Michael Bedson, Florida, and Billy Bedson, Florida; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Monsignor Francis Schoenauer, Allentown, Daniel Schoenauer, husband of Elizabeth, and Ciaran Schoenauer, husband of Cindy, New Jersey; sisters-in-law, Jeanine Schoenauer and Tara Schoenauer, both of Maryland; nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville, with the Rev. David Loeper and Monsignor Francis Schoenauer officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church. Interment with military honors will be held in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Pottsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 913 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Robert A.
