More detail on this person: Richard L. Simpkins CW4 (Ret.) Richard L. Simpkins, age 80, of Daleville, AL, passed away, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his home. Funeral services, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 6th at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, % Linda Andress, PO Box 310900, Enterprise, AL 36331. Richard served in the U.S. Army for twenty-five years, was a member of VFW Post 6020, a Mason and a member of the Shriners. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Blanche Simpkins and his wife, Barbara A. Pears Simpkins. Survivors include his wife, Linda L. Simpkins, Daleville, AL; daughters, Teresa G. Stauffer; Mary A. Holland; Pam S. Rodriquez; step-daughter, Cynthia Bass; son, Bruce A. Simpkins; step-sons, James R. Marshall (Sarah); John T. Marshall (Veronica); fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a special boy, John Edward Bridges; he is also survived by two brothers and three sisters.
