More detail on this person: Retired Major Everett Edward Schierenbeck, 82, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 28, 1935 in Jamaica, NY to John F. and Doris M. (Angerer) Schierenbeck. Everett is survived by his wife, Constance B. Schierenbeck; children, Jeffrey J. Schierenbeck, Theresa D. Flanagan and husband Charles, Laura L. Krall and husband Justin; grandchildren Bryce J. Schierenbeck, Andrew J. Flanagan, Rachel L. Flanagan, Sarah E. Flanagan, Everett P. Schierenbeck, Addison M. Schierenbeck and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Doris Schierenbeck; first wife Robbie F. Schierenbeck; brother John F. Schierenbeck; sister Audrey D. Mosso. Everett served in the United States Army as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. He also piloted the CH-54 Skycrane, Bell UH1 Iroquois and C-12. He was known to family and friends as "Ev" he completed numerous missions during the Vietnam War. His efforts were recognized with a number of war medals for his distinguished service to the country. He was an highly decorated officer who received the Purple Heart, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, two Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Humanitarian Service Medal to name a few. He kept close ties with his military unit and friends. After his military career he worked at the Dept of Housing and Urban Development as a Grant Management Specialist and retired in 2014. In his pastime Everett enjoyed dancing, watching western movies, traveling and spending time with this family and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Chapel of St. Mary at All Souls Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania Avenue Oklahoma City, OK 73116.
