Sherlock, Jr. (Bill), age 66, of Montgomery, AL,
passed away peacefully February 24, 2016. His will
be loved and missed, and his memory will be
cherished by his loving daughter, Tammy Jo
Worthing (Ken). Bill was preceded in death by his
wife of 33 years, Barbara. Bill is survived by his
sweet mother, Mary Frances Sherlock (Dothan,
AL), his brothers, Jim Sherlock (Jan) (Montgomery,
AL), and Ike Sherlock (Jennifer) (Jacksonville,
FL), and his sister, Tomi Jo Sherlock (Steve)
(Dothan, AL). Bill is also survived by many nieces
and nephews and other family and friends.
Bill was a loving and caring husband, father, son,
brother and friend to all who knew him. He truly
had a Servants heart and dedicated his life to
helping others. He was an extremely active member
of the Masons, Twice Past Master and a Perpetual
Member of Andrew Jackson Lodge #173, and was a
32nd Degree Mason and a KCCH (Knight
Commander Court of Honor) of the Montgomery
Valley Scottish Rites. He was Post Commander of
VFW Post 4176, was an active member of the
Montgomery Disabled American Veterans, and the
Montgomery Chapter of the American Legion. Bill
was also active with Lodge 22 with the Prattville
Fraternal Order of Police, having served as an
Officer in several Alabama cities, including
Montgomery, Ozark, Newton, and Pinkard. Bill was
also a member of the Civil Air Patrol.
Bill was a proud alumnus of Auburn University and
obtained his Masters Degree from Southern Cal. He
also held a degree from Embry Riddle School of
Aviation, where he later became a Flight Safety
Instructor.
Bill had a distinguished military career, serving
in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot with the
Air Calvary in Korea. Bill worked and retired from
the Alabama Department of Transportation, where
he forged many friendships and lasting
relationships.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Saturday, February, 27, 2016 at Brookside Funeral
Chapel, 3360 Brookside Drive, Millbrook, AL.
Family and friends are invited to gather at
Brookside at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, for Visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
remembrances be made to the Shriners Hospitals
for Children.
