More detail on this person: SHALLCROSS, GEORGE, Shallcross, George, 76, passed away suddenly July 6, 2004. George, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend was a retired Colonel of the United States Army, having 34 years of distinguished service including decorated service in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam, earning over his career the Silver Star, the Bronze Star the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross and two Purple Hearts, among many other personal and unit decorations. Also a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, George earned his Ph.D in Aviation Management at age 69 from Pacific Western University. Survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Audrey; daughters, Linda Smith, Karen DiPippa and Diane Shallcross- Stair; son, Gary Shallcross; and 4 grandsons, Joel, Andrew, Micah and Nikolai DiPippa. Funeral Service will be Saturday at 12 Noon at Woodlawn Funeral Home and the family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Interment with full miltary honors will be held Saturday at 3PM at Fero Memorial Gardens, 5891 N. Lecanto Highway in Beverly Hills. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 4301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0304 or at www.dav.org Services by WOODLAWN MEMORIAL PARK AND FUNERAL HOME 407-293-1361.
