Sanders, 62, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 in Bent. He was born on Sept. 10, 1947 in Boonville, Mo. to Edward and Dena (Wade) Sanders. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dena Sanders. Survivors include his sons, Joe Sanders of High Rolls; Ben Sanders and his wife Katie of Alamogordo; his daughter, Becky Boyd and her husband Brandon of Lovington; grandchildren, Rayn Boyd and Rowan Sanders; sister, Evadene Kling of Tampa, Fla. Edward served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army, where he had time as a pilot of a Huey helicopter. He was a Vietnam Veteran awarded with the Army Aviation badge, Overseas Bar, National Defense service medal, Vietnam service medal, Vietnam campaign medal and the air medal. The Sanders family welcomes friends to come share their favorite memories of Edward at Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009. The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place locally at PCS.
