Strick, born February 17, 1941, in Pierce City, MO, died Monday, November 14, at his home in Fairview, MO. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Jane Louise Ferguson Strick, and his sister, Margaret Strick Vaught. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sheri Ramsey Strick, his son, Ben J. Strick, his grandsons, Dalton and Dustin Strick, one sister, Jean Richardson of Neosho, four brothers, Jack (Bessie) of Joplin, Mark (Rose) of Springfield, Jerry of Oakley, Kansas, and Paul (Pearl) of Pierce City. Robert lived a lifetime of service to others. He graduated from Troy State University and Embry Riddle Aviation School in Fort Rucker, Alabama. Robert served as a patrolman with the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Force and was a decorated 20 year veteran of the United States Army. He, along with his brothers, Mark and Paul, was a member of the 82nd Airborne. His honors include both a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart he received while serving as a combat helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War. Robert retired in 1986 with the rank of Chief Warrant Office (CW04) and served as a test pilot for a defense contractor several years after retirement. Six years ago Robert and Sheri settled on "Uncle Joe's" farm which they jokingly referred to as Green Acres. Robert will be greatly missed by his many family members and friends. Visitation will be at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Thursday, November 17, from 7 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield.
