Sawczyn The Crossville Chronicle Thu Mar 24, 2011, 03:18 PM CDT CROSSVILLE - July 19, 1945 - March 20, 2011 Peter George Sawczyn, 65, of Knoxville, passed away March 20, 2011. Funeral services were held March 22 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Interment was held in Pomona Cemetery. Full military honors were given. Mr. Sawczyn was born July 19, 1945, in Passiac, NJ, the son of Bob and Amelia Wanda Pasnit Sawczyn. He was employed with Johnson and Johnson working in sales and marketing. He attended Concord Baptist Church and was also a US Marine veteran having served during Vietnam. Survivors include his wife, Carol Payne Sawczyn of Knoxville; son, Peter Sawczyn of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Debbie Sawczyn of Austin, TX; step-son, Hollis Vanwinkle and his wife Tiffanie of Smithville; and step-grandchildren, Katie Phillips and Hannah Vanwinkle.
