More detail on this person: My name is Hogan
Bryan and I served with Major Sawvell in VN in
1966. We were in the 339th Trans Co. stationed in
Nha Trang. He was quite a guy, not afraid to buck
the system. He actually taught me how to fly the
Huey. A special note, he went into Normandy in a
glider as a 16 or 17 year old private. Later he
received a battle field commission. I had often
wondered what happened to him. This information was last updated 05/18/2016

He died Nov. 14, 1987 Clayton County, Iowa. He is
buried at the Council Hill Cemetery, Mc Gregor,
Iowa. Been working on family tree,but I have to
fine out who is parents are.My name is Imogene
Sawvell, Brandt. I believe Vernon is from Mc
Gregor area.
