More detail on this person: Jiles Michael Scates PAID DEATH NOTICES Richmond Times-Dispatch (VA) - Saturday, May 22, 2004 Jiles Michael Scates 67, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 20, 2004. He was retired from the United States Army with 23 years of service, was employed with Fishers Imports, and attended Beale Memorial Baptist Church. Survived by his wife, Patricia D. Scates; his children and their spouses, Dianah S. and Thomas Childers, Kenneth M. and Pam Scates; stepchildren, Charles Jay and Stephanie Atkins, Patricia Hollie and Greg Foster; four grandchildren, T.J., Erin, Sarah, and Corinne; sister, Perky and Irvin Jones; mother-in-law, Elsie Davis; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2004, in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock. Interment with full military honors will follow in Essex Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
