More detail on this person: James Ware Searcy JAMES WARE SEARCY James Ware Searcy, 74, of Wellington, FL, was born June 22, 1935 and passed away Friday, December 4, 2009. Education was extremely important to Jim and he received his Masters Degree in Psychology from Ball State University. He was a highly decorated veteran of the Viet Nam war. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, four Air Medals, and Purple Hear amongst others. His last duty station was the Pentagon where he retired in 1979 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. Jim worked tirelessly as the President of TaylorWare, Inc., a company that specialized in the sale of custom made furniture. But his passion was golf. No stronger competitor ever played the game. Jim was predeceased by his loving wife, Janet. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Eva; his sisters, Kathleen Pepznick and Liz Harrison and his fiancée, Betty McKee. He is further survived by the legion of friends that became a part of his life over the years. He will be missed but never forgotten. On Wednesday, December 9, his friends are invited to reminisce about his life with Jim's family at Del Lago Funeral Home, 131 South Lakeside Drive, Lake Worth. On Thursday, December 10, a Memorial Service will be held at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1003 Allendale Road, West Palm Beach with a burial service following at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Hospice of Palm Beach.
