DAVID JOHN SEELEY, 51, who retired from the Marine Corps as an aviator, died Dec. 29, 1995, at a local hospital. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Lt. Col. Seeley was born Feb. 10, 1944, in Millen, Ga., to John G. and Catherine (Cook) Seeley, who live in Ithaca, N.Y. He was married April 1, 1967, in Lansing, Mich., to Suzan (Manus) Seeley, who lives in Colorado Springs. Other survivors include a son, Dean David of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Kristina Dotson of Spangdahlem, Germany; and three brothers, Dan of Boston, George of Cooperstown, N.Y., and Tom of Ithaca. Lt. Col. Seeley graduated from Cornell University. He served in the Marine Corps for 31 years and received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Presidential Service Badge, among other decorations. He lived in Colorado Springs and was stationed at NORAD from 1989 to 1992. He moved to North Carolina, and retired to Cascade six months ago. Lt. Col. Seeley was a member of the International Practical Shooting Association, the Retired Officers Association and the National Rifle Association. He was a master gunsmith and enjoyed hunting, bicycling and canoeing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, 2215 N.
