More detail on this person: Herbert R. Seidl, 81, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 at the family residence in Enterprise. A funeral mass with military honors will be held Friday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Father Patrick Maher officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory directing. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the St. John Catholic Church Building Fund. Mr. Seidl was born March 10, 1933 in Triebendorf, Sudetenland. He faithfully served his country for 27 years, including serving two tours in Vietnam. Following his retirement from the United States Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, he worked as an instructor pilot at Fort Rucker for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franz and Berta Jarmer Seidl, as well as two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Erika Seidl of Enterprise; son, Michael Seidl (Dana) of Clifton, Va.; Sylvia Ankiewicz (Duke) of Mobile; seven grandchildren, Amber (Tom), Jonathon, Matthew, Chelsea, Allison, Emily and James; four great-grandchildren.
