More detail on this person: Byron E Sheppard, 75 OBITUARIES Tampa Tribune, The (FL) - Thursday, October 7, 1993 BYRON E. SHEPPARD, 75, of St. Petersburg died Monday at Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Bay Pines. A native of Los Angeles, he moved to the area in 1972 from Fort Lauderdale. He retired from the U.S. Army as a colonel after more than 30 years of service and duty during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a parole officer for the State of Florida for six years. He attended Northside Church of Christ in St. Petersburg. He is survived by his wife, Tressie B.; a son, Michael of Seattle; two daughters, Naomi Timmons of Norman, Okla., and Terry Walter of Fort Wainwright, Alaska; two sisters, June Puryear of Los Angeles and Corinne Larsen of San Diego; and four grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, St. Petersburg.
