More detail on this person: Stuart J Or Stu Silver, 53 OBITUARIES Anchorage Daily News (AK) - Tuesday, April 15, 1986 Memorial services for Stuart "Stu" Silver, age 53, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel One, Elmendorf Air Force Base. Chaplain Emilio Chaviana will officiate. Stuart died April 12, in Anchorage. He was born November 27, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Throughout his life Stuart engaged in numerorus activities, all of which revolved around his family and the aviation world. He served a full military career with the U.S. Air Force as a rescue helicopter command pilot and a flight instructor beginng November 1952, and retiring at the rank of Major in February of 1973. After retirement from the military, he became owner-operator of Stu's Aero Services, a mobile aircraft maintenance shop. He also served as a maintenance inspector in the aviation community, traveling throughout the state on numerous occasions conducting maintenance safety seminars. He was a resident of Alaska since 1964. Survivors are his wife, Virginia (Ginger); one daughter, Ilene Kristi; three sons, Keith, Ken, and Kevin; two granddaughters, Megan Silver, and Melissa Glover, all of Anchorage and two sisters, Ruth Gilbert and Elaine Slap, of California. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to the American Heart Association, 2330 E. 42nd Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska 99508-5272. Through their efforts, Stuart was blessed with a full 16 additional years with his family and friends.
