More detail on this person: Charles Benjamin Singletary, 84, passed away on September 14, 2018 in Birmingham, Alabama. Charles was born in Louisiana to Albert Singletary and Myrtle Walker on July 22, 1934. He grew up in Louisiana and attended and graduated from West Point Academy in 1956 where he met and later married Anita Jane McNair from Pensacola, FL. They were married for 62 years. Charles had a distinguished career in the Army including two tours of Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He was awarded several medals for valorous service. Chuck and Pat felt called to take an early retirement and to serve in full time ministry with the Navigators where he first got involved in 1952. Chuck and Pat would later serve with the Navigators for a total of 59 years. In 1980 they were founding leaders of a new organization - Church Resource Ministries (CRM) where Chuck served as President and later on as Chairman of the Board. Charles is preceded in death by both parents and his two brothers and sister - Ernest & Helen Singletary, Walker Singletary and Betty Jo Anderson.
