More detail on this person: Retired Chief Warrant Officer William "Bill" C. Sipes, 67, formerly of Fort Knox, died Saturday, October 27, 2007, in the Philippines. Bill earned two Purple Hearts, an Army Commendation Medal and the sixth through 17th Oak Leaf Clusters while serving two missions in Vietnam, first with the 101st Air Calvary Huey/Medivac and the secoond with the 138th Avaition Compoany flying fixed wing recon. He was preceeded in death by his mother,Jo Howard; and his father, Thomas Sipes Sr. Survivors include his loving wife, Helen Sipes of the Philippines; a son, Richard Sipes of Washington; a daughter Sharon Ahrens of California; two sisters, JoEllen Gray, Janice Fowler of Alabama; his stepmother, Elinor Sipes; three stepsisters, Laura Rusk of Canada, Lisa Barnickle and Paddy Sipes; and a step brother, Tom Sipes of Indiana. Burial was Nov. 3 near Cagayan de Oro City in the Philippines.
