More detail on this person: Roger D. Stager Roger D. Stager went to his Lord on Sept. 6. Roger was born in Schoolcraft in the Upper Peninsula and came to Reed City to live when he was five years old. He was the son of John A. Stager and Esther M. (Schawe) Stager, who preceded him in death. Roger attended the Holdenville School and graduated from Reed City High in 1958. He attended Central Michigan University where he enrolled in ROTC and obtained the rank of lieutenant. He joined the US Army after a few years in the work field. He retired as captain. He served two tours during the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot. After returning to the US he went back to college and became registered nurse. He then continued with his education to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist. He is survived by two daughters, Lauren Stager of Las Vegas, Nev. and Leslie Stager of Houma, La.; one son, Shawn Stager and wife, Danner, one grandson, Michael Stager of Meridian, Miss.; and one sister, Violet M. Buss and husband, William, of Ludington.
