More detail on this person: Grady L. Strange Herald-Journal (Spartanburg, SC) - Wednesday, August 27, 1997 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Retired U.S. Army Major Grady L. Strange, 60, died Aug. 26, 1997. A native of Glendale, he was a son of Effie and Willie Strange of Pauline. He served 22½ years in the U.S. Army, including two tours of duty during the Vietnam Conflict. He was first married to the late Betty Mae Strange. Also surviving is his wife, Lee Strange of Clemmons; two sons, David Strange of Winston-Salem and Michael Strange of Pacolet; two daughters, Dana Deaton of Greensboro, N.C., and Jennifer Greer of Spartanburg; a brother, Kenneth Strange of Gastonia, N.C.; a sister, Pearl Strange of Canton, N.C.; three grandchildren; five stepchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Voglers Funeral Home in Clemmons, N.C. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Triad Vietnam Veterans Association.
