William Franklin Sutton, Sr., 66 of Savannah, died Monday, April 9, 2001 at Candler Hospital. He was born in Atlanta and had lived in Savannah since 1968. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a Veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of Palestine Lodge No. 486 F. & A.M. in Atlanta, GA; a member of the DAV and the American Legion. He is survived by a wife, Sara Hailey Sutton, Savannah, GA; 3 sons, William F. Sutton, Jr. of Savannah, GA: Scot G. Sutton of Miami, FL, and Matthew C. Sutton of Savannah, GA; a sister, Mrs. Martha Thorburn of Atlanta, GA; 4 grandchildren, Timothy Sutton and Heather Sutton, both of Savannah, GA; Patrick and Rebecca Sutton of Miami, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel. Graveside services 2:00 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home Hodgson Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
