Swearengin, 53, of 159 Oak Forest Dr., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at Moses Cone Hospital. Mr. Swearengin was a member of Colfax Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and Western Kentucky University and was employed as a consultant with IBM. He is survived by his wife, Michelle G. Swearengin; daughter, Amy Swearengin, both of the home; one sister, Marie Cross of Durham; one brother, Fred Swearengin of Woodville, Ala. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405 or the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, N.C. 27407.
