More detail on this person: Andrew J. Synnott A graveside service for Andrew J. Synnott, 63, of Fredericksburg will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30, in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with a prayer service to begin at 8 p.m. Mr. Synnott died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond. Born in Cambridge, Mass., he had retired as an Army major. He was a Vietnam veteran and received numerous medals, including the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. O'Neill of Seattle, Wash.; a son, Andrew J. Synnott of Boston, Mass.; two sisters, Catherine Synnott of Watertown, Mass., and Mary Michaels of Silver Spring, Md.; four brothers, John Synnott of Sandwich, Mass., James Synnott of Belmont, Mass., Brendan Synnott and Kevin Synnott, both of Cambridge, Mass.; a grandson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his companion, Linda J. Glass of Fredericksburg. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, c/o Trudy Clifton, 113 Tallpines Ave., Locust Grove, Va. 22508.
