More detail on this person: I am Luther S. Smith Jr's only son. I was in Germany at the time he died at his home on Dean Church Rd in Ozark Alabama. If you would like to know the history of my fathers career as a pilot and an instructor pilot, please contact me. He flew as a test pilot with the test board at Cairns Air Field located in Daleville, Al which is a part of Ft. Rucker. When he first came to Ft. Rucker is was known as camp Rucker. He was there and saw the camp become a fort. I was there in the very early 60's and remember everything just like it was yesterday. Everything from him serving in Korea and Viet Nam. From 1986-1988 I attended AATC in Ozark and earned my A&P which my dad truly trusted and loved. Many times he would not fly if I did not sigh off the aircraft first. I really miss signing off his aircraft and flying with him. He thought me to fly and without him, I'll never fly again.
