Stewart, a manager with McDonnell Douglas Corp. and a retired Army colonel, died Sunday (Jan. 8, 1995) at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, after suffering a heart attack. He was 59 and lived in Chesterfield. Col. Stewart had worked in the helicopter systems division of McDonnell Douglas since 1984. Before that, he served 26 years in the Army, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was involved in the development of new Army helicopters, including the Black Hawk and the Apache. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 15642 Clayton Road, Manchester. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. today at Buchholz Mortuary, 2211 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield. Among the survivors are his wife, Barbara M. Stewart; a son, Scott Stewart of Sausalito, Calif.; two daughters, Tenley Wilson of San Antonio and Sandra Koller of Ballwin; his father and stepmother, James and Margaret Stewart of Wayne, Pa.; a brother, William Stewart of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy Shore of Conshohocken, Pa.; and five grandchildren.
