Snow, 85, beloved husband, father, brother, son,
uncle, and grandfather passed away November
15th, 2016 in Brigham City, Utah after a yearlong
struggle with several health issues. Born in
Cleveland, Ohio on June 11, 1931 Quentin was the
second of three children born to Esca Douglas and
Viola Mae Snow. Tim Moved to Utah to attend
school after his entire family joined the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While living
in Utah, he met Naomi Jenkins and the two were
married on July 1st, 1954 in the Logan LDS Temple.
They were married for 58 years. Shortly after they
were married, Tim began his military career and he
and Naomi lived all over the world including
Munich, Germany; Hanau, Germany; Loring AFB,
Maine; Cleveland Ohio, where Tim was a Cleveland
City Police Officer; Fort Lewis, Washington; Fort
Eustis, Virginia; Enid, Oklahoma; as well as Texas
and Korea.
Quentin was a patriot and served his country for
more than 20 years in the military. He became a
pilot and joined the US Air Force where he served
in Korea for one year, requiring him to leave his
wife at home. Later, Tim decided to become a
helicopter pilot and switched military branches
and joined the US Army. He was sent to Vietnam
where he served as a combat helicopter pilot
flying Huey gunships. He flew hundreds of missions
and saw heavy combat. Quentin was awarded
several medals and received many commendations
for his combat service in Vietnam. He returned
again to Southeast Asia and served for a second
tour in Thailand where he continued to fly
helicopter missions. Quentin loved the military
and visiting new places with his lovely wife,
Naomi and their three sons.
Tim loved flying and upon his return to the states
he became a private pilot instructor. He went back
to Utah State University and earned a Master's of
Science degree creating a training manual
specifically designed to reduce anxiety in student
pilots. He also joined his brother Richard and
became a salesman for a chemical company. He
and his brother were known for their great sense
of humor and pranks. They always enjoyed each
other's company.
Tim's greatest character traits were his kindness,
sense of humor, and empathy for others. He was a
friend to all he came in contact with. His family
never knew who might be joining them at the
Sunday dinner table. Tim always looked for the
good in others and was extremely loyal to people.
Tim served in various church positions and was a
ward missionary for several years.
When Tim's health started to decline, he would go
to McDonald's in Logan and hang out with his
friends. This special group of people have
remained friends for over 20 years. Tim also loved
his family and enjoyed being involved with his
sons and their families. Tim loved playing
scrabble with his sons and also doing crossword
puzzles. Tim was extremely intelligent and was
always an interesting person to visit with.
Tim was a modern day Job as far as his health was
concerned. He had many serious health problems
he contracted as a result of his military service
in Vietnam. After his medical discharge he bore
his illnesses and medical difficulties with
courage and grace and never complained. He loved
the fact that he was able to serve his country and
always said he would do it all over again.
After Naomi, his wife of 58 years, died, Tim met
and Married LuDean Cowley and were married on
March 2nd, 2012. LuDean gave great love and care
to Tim and his life was greatly enriched by having
LuDean in his life as well as her wonderful 8
children.
Quentin is survived by his wife, LuDean Snow, Hyde
Park, Utah and his three sons and
daughters-in-law; Scott Snow of Logan (Kris Snow
of Ann Arbor, MI); Doug (Kimberly) Snow of
Providence, Utah; Ret. Lt. Colonel Craig (Abby)
Snow, Tampa, FL. He is Also survived by his
brother, Richard (Kathy) Snow, Pocatello, ID and
by 7 grandchildren; Alex, Kaili, Hayden, Madison
(Thomas), Kenzie, Zach, and Jake; as well as many
nieces, nephews, and step children.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at
the LDS 16th Ward building located at 600 North
100 West, Logan, Utah on Saturday, November 19,
2016. The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm in the
chapel. Burial will be held at the Logan Cemetery.
