He was 65, born Feb. 18, 1933, in Red River Parish and was a resident of Baton Rouge. Services at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home chapel, Coushatta, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by Brother Garry Jordan. Military graveside services at Thomas-Wren Cemetery. Survived by wife, Mary Murphy Thomas, Baton Rouge; a son, Kevin Thomas and wife, Lisa, Batavia, Ill.; two sisters, Lillian Papiano, Ormond Beach, Fla., and Mary L. Barnhard, Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Ben and Chloe Thomas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a daughter, Leigh Ann Thomas; parents, Jamesand Clorie Thomas; and a brother. He was a member of the Graduate N Club of Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, and Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge.
