More detail on this person: Harold Jean Tanner Graveside services for Harold Jean Tanner, 77, of Van, TX, are scheduled for 11:15 am, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX, with Brother Steve Glosup officiating. Harold passed away on March 20, 2016 in Grand Saline, TX. He was born on January 13, 1939 in Odem, TX, to Adam Fontenot and Rosalie Self. Harold retired after 24 years of military service in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. Harold is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the American Legion and also the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. He is preceded in death by his parents and adopted parents, Leonard and Mildred Tanner. Harold is survived by his wife, Mady Tanner; son, Harry and Tonya Fontenot; daughter, Brigitte and Jerry Preston; grandchildren, Natasha, Bryan, Brionna, Alia; 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, James Thomas Fontenot Tanner and wife, Jane.
