More detail on this person: Mike Thomas, 70, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. He was born on May 28, 1947 in Spur, Texas to the late Howard and Mary Thomas. Mike is a veteran of the Vietnam War. His bravery during the Vietnam War earned him a Distinguished Flying Cross, 2 Bronze Stars and the Air Medal. He was a Chief Warrant Officer CW2. After leaving the Army, he returned home to Spur to farm with his Dad. After he retired from farming he pursued his passion for riding motorcycles. He saw 45 states on his motorcycle with his son and friends. He is survived by two children, son, Bryan Thomas and wife Metessa, daughter, Lyndi Hall and husband Ray. One sister, Karen Taylor and husband James and nine grandchildren, Alexis Thomas, Chrissy Morris and husband, Austin, Tori Carr, Brey Thomas, Brody Carr, Kloe Thomas, Sidney Hall, Kaybree Davis and Quincy Hall. A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2:00 at the First Baptist Church in Spur, Texas.
