More detail on this person: Altimore N. Taglieri PEABODY_Altimore N. Taglieri, 67, died Friday evening at the Kindred Hospital of Boston North Shore in Peabody following a long illness. Born in Peabody on June 30, 1939, he was the son of the late Altimore N. & Leonie R. (Dumas) Taglieri, Sr. He lived here in his youth and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1957, where he played on the Football Team. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he would spend his career. He was stationed in Korea in 1959 where he maintained OH13 M.A.S.H. Helicopters. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, between 1965 to 1972, as a Cobra Helicopter Fighter Pilot. He was later stationed in Germany for four years, and the remainder of his career he was stationed in Hawaii. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He was an owner/operator of a taxi service in Hawaii for many years, then completely retired and moved to Peabody in 1989 and lived here for the last 17 years. He enjoyed boating, scuba diving, water skiing, and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by: his wife, Gislinde (Hacker) Taglieri of HI; a son, Ronald Taglieri; a daughter, Lorraine; three stepchildren, Heidi, Michael and Deanna; a brother and sister-in-law, William & Nancy Taglieri of Peabody; two sisters, Mary Lou Taglieri of Salem and Roseanna & Henry Cook of Maine; three nieces, Julie & Richard Shailor of Foxboro, Kimberley and Kristen Cook of ME; two nephews, David Taglieri of Deerfield, NH, and Michael Taglieri of Peabody; one great-niece, Ashley Shailor of Foxboro; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a brother Robert Taglieri. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Funeral Ceremony on Saturday at 1:30 P.M at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., new facility in Peabody. Urn burial will be at a future date in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
