More detail on this person: Russ and I served
in the 116th AHC from August (when it was formed
at Fort Bragg, NC.) through movement to Phu Loi in
September 1965 until we returned from Viet Nam in
September '66. You know the sad thing? I've
searched for Russ since about 1977 and could
never find him. He and I were good friends while
we were in 'Nam and I probably flew about 30% my
hours during my first tour with him. Sad that we
didn't get to drink a beer before he died. This information was last updated 05/18/2016

Russ was a great friend and mentor to a young
lineboy at Fairfield County Airport, Lancaster,
Ohio in 1977,78,79. That was an influential time
in my life and he had an enormous impact on me.
Russ showed me what it was like to be a man of
his word in this world when he stood up to my
lousy boss at that airport. He was generous with
his time, his money, his cars. I still miss him.
