Tedford, 64, died suddenly Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at his home in Albuquerque, N.M. Billie grew up in northwestern Kentucky, and southern Indiana. He was a graduate of Bosse High School and attended the University of Evansville. He finished his education when he joined the Air Force. He retired after 20 years of service in the United State Air Force and served as a pilot in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carolyn R. Tedford; a son, David Tedford of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Julie Werst and husband, Bill of Fort Collins, Colo., and Carrie Schmidt and husband, Michael of Alpharetta, Ga.; mother, Zell Tedford of Salem, Ky.; brothers, Don Tedford and wife, Mary of Newburgh, Ind., Tom Tedford and wife, Darlene of Salem, Ky., and John Tedford of Salem, Ky.; and many grandchildren. Visitation and memorial services were at the French Mortuary in Albuquerque, N.M. A private internment service will be October 18, in Mapleview Cemetery in Marion, Ky.
