More detail on this person: Norris W. Thomas, JR., 61, died Saturday May 20, 2006 at his home in Gulf Breeze, Fl. He was born in 1944 in Wilimington, DE and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a former captin in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Republic of Vietnam 1968-1969 where he was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses and four Air medals while piloting UH-1E helicopters stationed with First Marine Aircraft Wing, VMO-6 in the Quang Tri Providence. After his tour in Vietnam, he was a flight instructor attached to flight 18 in Saufley Field in Pensacola, Fl. He worked for much of his life as a general contractor and then Vice President of A.E New; Inc. He enjoyed fishing, quail hunting, and was a past President of the Northwest Florida Pointer and Setter Club. His boundless love for Elaine, Elizabeth, and Sarabeth swaddles them now even in his death. Going to the beach, attending FSU football games, collecting fine wines, and spending time his family were his other hobbies.
