CW2 Larry W Wall passed peacefully in Loma Linda University Medical Center on 7 Aug 20, with family members at his side. Larry was born 25 May 50 in Clovis, New Mexico - and attended High School in Westminster, California, where he participated in football and track.A He studied for one semester at Orange Coast Community College in Costa Mesa, CA, before enlisting in the Army to fly helicopters. Larry was in WORWAC Class 69-47 at Ft Wolters and graduated with Class 69-49 at Ft Rucker.A He arrived in the Republic of Vietnam on 28 Mar 70 and was assigned to fly UH-1HâÇÖs in Charlie Company, 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion of the 1st Cavalry Division.A Among other medals awarded during his tour, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroic actions in Cambodia on 12 Jun 70. He left the US Army shortly after returning from Vietnam and trained as a plumber.A Larry later enjoyed a long career as a vocational instructor for the California Department of Corrections - teaching plumbing skills to inmates. Larry and his wife Nancy have five children, two of whom tragically predeceased him.A He was also predeceased by his parents and a younger brother.A Larry was a devoted and loving husband to Nancy and father to their children.A Having married his high school sweetheart, Larry and his adored wife would have celebrated their 50th Anniversary in October. In addition to working for the California Department of Corrections and raising their family - Larry and Nancy shared a lonng-standing interest in Labrador Retrievers. Wallcroft Labradors are assistance dogs for Disabled Veterans and youngsters on the Autism Spectrum, skilled hunting companions, AKC Champions/Grand-Champions, and well-loved family members.
