More detail on this person: Robert Paul Watts, Sr. Dothan, AL_Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Robert Paul Watts, Sr., 77, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020, following a brief illness. Memorial services were held January 15, 2020, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dothan, AL, with Pastor Rob Oates officiating and special tributes by his son and grandsons. Paul was born September 29, 1942, the son of the late James Hudgens Watts, Sr. and Gladys Armstrong Watts. He spent his early years in Mountville, SC and Clinton, SC. He was a graduate of Clinton High School, Presbyterian College with a B.S. in Math, and the University of Southern California with a Masters in Systems Research Development. He retired from the U. S. Army in 1987 after 22 years of service with two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot earning various awards including the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Sandra Davis Watts; his son, Robert Paul Watts, Jr. (Jennifer); his four grandsons: Joshua (Sabbah), Paul (Chisato), Sam, and Joseph; his great-granddaughter, Ellie; and his sister, Angela Watts Long. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Alexander Watts; his two brothers, James Hudgens Watts, Jr. and Charles David Watts, Sr.; and his sister, Roberta Eatts Cockle. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Pinelawn Memory Gardens in Clinton, SC.
