More detail on this person: Capt. Robert B. Walls Jr Crashed and damaged beyond repair at MCAS El Toro, CA JUL 30TH 1970, coming to rest some 50 yards from Air Force One. 1 immediate fatality, 4 survivors were admitted to Orange County Medical Center under critical condition. Crashed during a misjudged maximum effort landing - wings broke, fuselage ended up overturned, burned. Crew: Maj. Walter Zythewicz - Pilot, died August 7th, 1970 from his injuries. Capt. Robert B. Walls Jr - Pilot, died August 8th, 1970 from his injuries. Capt. Roger W. Mullins - Pilot, died in the crash. SSgt. Kenneth C. Davis - Flight Engineer, the only survivor, passed away in 2013. Cpl. Kenneth W. Metzdorf, died August 5th, 1970.
