Additional information about this casualty:
The Air America Aircraft Accident Review states the Dornier took off at 1610 local from My Tho (V-183), South Vietnam on a routine contract passenger and cargo flight to Phu Vinh, South Vietnam. There were two South Vietnamese Army passengers aboard. Immediately subsequently to take-off, the aircraft climbed normally to a height of approximately 100 feet after which it assumed an extremely nose high attitude until it had reached an altitude of approximately 200 to 250 feet. At this time, it began a fall to the left and crashed into a rice paddy. The aircraft departed Tan Son Nhut at 0804 local and it had completed twelve legs of its fourteen leg schedule upon its landing at My Tho.
