Additional information about this casualty:
Had just returned from R&R and joined the support for the 1st Cav's move into the A Shau Valley. The Huey was shot down and the crew got it on the ground successfully without further damage. Larry got out of the helicopter and took off his chicken plate. Not long after that, he was hit by a 50 cal round in the chest. He was evacuated but died at a medical aid station. Submitted to the VHPA by Ken Hiscock 8/2001
