War Story:
Major David Webster a pilot aboard the USMC aircraft died of burns before being rescued. The other pilot Major Demko and the crew chief suffered burns but were rescued. Demko later died on Feb 5, 1968 on his second tour with HMM-364.

Editor's note: Robert Stephens found a number of news articles which state CW3 ISHIHARA JAMES HIROSHI was killed by a bullet to the head while a passenger in a CV-2 CARIBOU aircraft (redesignated as the C-7A) so we have removed Ishihara from this record. Also note that Demko died on his second tour but was injured in this incident.
