Accident Summary:

The tail boom was chopped up by the main rotor blades. The aircraft crashed and burned. The mast broken in two above damper splines. The transmission separated from the fuselage and the main rotor system in flight. It is possible that the aircraft was hit with hostile fire but the exact cause is unknown. The accident board concluded that the push pull control rod attached to the synchronized elevator became separated in flight.
