Accident Summary:
In flight, the crew heard a loud bang. After the autorotation, the aircraft hit the ground sideways then rolled over to the right. The main rotor blades struck a tree stump and broke up. Analysis revealed a failure of the main drive shaft. Suspect improper lubrication.
