Description: The following is the eleventh installment (an extract) from the US Army Aviation System Command, March 1971 publication titled: "Logistical Support of Airmobile Operations, Republic of Vietnam, 1961-1971"
In June-July 1962, the 93rd Transportation Company at Da Nang accomplished a "swap" with the 1st Marine Helicopter Squadron at Soc Trang in the Mekong River Delta. This exchange was made because of the greater capability of the Marine H-34 helicopters to operate in the higher elevations of the northern regions.(7)
