Catholic Youth was a Civilian Irregular Defense Group unit
An Xuyen Province, IV Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Long Phu
Description: A poorly armed VC assault battalion attacked Long Phu, also known as Tra Lang, where Father Tong's Catholic Youth defenders were living. Aircraft arrived overhead and dropped flares which startled the VC. A Vietnamese NCO from the 77th Group led a Catholic platoon behind the VC, attacked and cleared the VC from the hamlet.
