Description: The 121st AVN reported that despite the increased activity during the month, their total flying time was the year's lowest (982.9). April was the only month for the year that the 1,000 hours mark was not passed. This drop in time was due to heavy utilization of the UTT's aircraft, initial turn-ins of CH-21 aircraft, transition training being conducted to qualify aviators in the UH-1B, and increasing maintenance difficulties with the remaining CH-21's. More and more often ships were unable to complete missions due to malfunctions and breakdowns. The Company looked forward to the arrival of the new turbine engine Hueys.
