Description: Camp Kannack situated just 12 miles north of the Route 19 battle of Mang Yang Pass was defended by a force of 550 CIDG and was attached by a VC battalion. The VC overran two outposts and penetrated the outer wire. After daybreak, A-1Es hit the retreating VC and the SF counterattacked to regain their outposts. Losses were 34 CIDG and 3 civilians KIA, 3 SF and 32 CIDG WIA; and 119 VC confirmed bodies.
